Amen."
[Ephesians 3:20-21 AMP]

Original GoFundMe Post:

Sasha was adopted at the age of 6 from Ukraine by Derek and Renee Loux. He is one of 12 adopted children of the Loux family, 5 of which have special needs. Sasha only weighed 22 pounds at the time of his adoption (the size of an average 10-12 month old baby), and was severely neglected and malnourished, having never had solid food. He had never been outside the orphanage walls before Derek and Renee came to pick him up.

Sasha was placed in an orphanage due to his disabilities. He was born with severe Spina-Bifida that caused him to be paralyzed from the waist down at birth. In addition to this, he also suffers from severe Hydrocephalus, which accumulates excess water in the brain, causing the head to swell. As a result, Sasha had to have a permanent shunt put in to continually drain the fluid from his brain.

Sasha has had several major surgeries over the years since coming to the United States. He is continually going to doctor's appointments and check ups and recently was hospitalized for a few days to find out why he started having seizures again.

Even though he is bound to a wheelchair, you will never meet a happier child. He is so full of joy and life and instantly becomes friends with everyone he meets! He loves building things with lego's, spending time with his family, playing outside and laughing! Sometimes he laughs so hard no sound comes out. Tears start rolling down his cheeks until he finally lets out a loud squeel! Haha! He is a riot! :)

In 2009, Sasha's adoptive father, Derek passed away tragically in a car accident 2 days before Christmas.

Sasha with his Dad, Derek Loux who is now in Heaven with Jesus.

As a result, Derek's parents John and Mimi Loux moved to Kansas City to help Renee with all the children. They are currently helping Renee with many of Sasha's needs including transportation to school, hospital vists, practical every day medical care and many other things! Sasha is now 15 years old and growing so much! With Renee also having medical concerns from lifting the kiddos to much, this is really taking a toll on John and is greatly impacting his back. (Sasha is to heavy now for sweet little Mimi to lift!;) ) John has to wear a back brace every single time he lifts Sasha in and out of the car etc... Because he is getting to an age where he cannot lift this growing teenager easily in and out of a vehicle anymore, a mobility van is essential for Sasha's care as he continues to grow.

With a wheelchair accessable van they would be able to easily and safely transport Sasha to doctor's offices, hospital visits, school, stores, visits with family, etc… This would truly be LIFE-CHANGING for this family!

We are trying to raise $20,000 for the cost of a new, converted wheelchair accessible van for the Loux Family. This would cover the purchase of a new van, all taxes, titling, registration and fees.

This family, even though they are in need themselves, GIVE AND GIVE AND GIVE SOME MORE to all those they come across! They are worth EVERY PENNY AND MUCH MORE!!!

LET'S BLESS THEM IN RETURN FOR ALL THEY DO!!!

Thank you for your kindness and a willing heart in finding a way to help this dear family with a young once orphaned boy named Sasha from the Ukraine and his transportation needs with a mobility van.

Loux Family Story:

Derek and Renee Loux's first child, Josiah, was born with severe Spina Bifida. Living only 2-1/2 yrs, Josiah died in June of 1996. The years that followed were years of heartache, brokenness, and finally restoration. Their biological daughter Sophia was born in 1997, and Michaela was born in 2000! In 2001 Derek and Renee began the Indianapolis House of Prayer.

Stirred by the Lord in prayer, and burdened to live out true religion, Derek and Renee adopted twin girls from the Marshall Islands in 2002. Seeing the effective restoration of their daughters as a result of being immersed in a community of daily worship, scripture meditation, and prayer; a vision to restore many orphans through adoption and intense discipleship was birthed in their hearts.

Praise God, since then, they have welcomed 10 more children from around the world into their home, 5 of which have special needs.

Derek and Renee Loux founded a non-profit organization called Orphan Justice Center in Kansas City, Missouri that partners with the International House of Prayer in KC. Orphan Justice Center (OJC) is an organization that equips and mobilizes the faith-based community to serve foster, adoptive, and orphaned children both globally and locally. Through prayer, family support, residential outreach, and training, OJC supports the Church in responding to James 1:27, to care for the orphan and fatherless.

Despite all the progress this family was making, another tragedy struck on December 23, 2009, when Derek was tragically killed in a car accident on the way home from an out-of-town conference for awareness of child trafficking.

Since then, this precious family has faced multiple uphill struggles. One immediate one of which being a mobility van for Sasha.

This family has been hit hard. Harder than any family should be, in many different areas. However, there is so much LIFE and JOY when you are around EACH of them, their hearts are full of love and their lives shine with the light of Jesus!

This is obviously just a short overview of this families story. I would love to answer any questions you have. For more information:

*If funds are raised beyond the goal of $20,000, the remaining funds will go directly to help the Loux family with up-keep of the van, and other immediate needs the family has at this time.
* Also, if not enough funds are raised to get a van, all money will be given to the Loux family to use for immediate needs they have.

THANK YOU!!!   THANK YOU!!!   THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
