Every day across Africa, thousands of children and adults are forced to crawl just to move from one place to another. Many are confined to their homes, unable to go to school, work, or even experience the world beyond their doorsteps, all because they don’t have access to a basic necessity: a wheelchair.

Our last shipment to Ethiopia helped this child gain freedom, which has made life easier for the parent as carrying your child was normal as well as the Childs.

At Wheelchairs for Africa (WFA), we believe that mobility is not a luxury — it’s a right. Our mission is simple but powerful: to gift as many wheelchairs as possible to people living with disabilities across Africa. For many of them, a wheelchair can mean freedom, dignity, and the opportunity to live life with hope and independence.

In many African communities, getting a wheelchair is nearly impossible. They are expensive, hard to find, and often not prioritized in systems where medical resources are already limited. But together, we can change that.

Our first major goal is to ship one full container of wheelchairs, that’s over 400 chairs, to people in desperate need. Each wheelchair will transform a life. For a child, it could mean finally attending school. For an adult, it could mean finding work or simply being able to move freely and live with dignity.
