My dad is a Vietnam veteran who was wounded in action in 1966. He has carried both the visible and invisible scars of his service for nearly six decades, meeting every challenge with quiet strength, humor, and pride. He has always been the one lifting others up — his family, his friends, and fellow veterans — but now he needs help from the community he has spent his life supporting.
Because of significant mobility limitations, my dad now relies on a wheelchair and can no longer safely travel in a standard vehicle. This has made it extremely difficult for him to get to medical appointments, visit family, or simply enjoy the independence he once had. A wheelchair-accessible van would give him back the freedom to leave the house safely and comfortably, restoring dignity and quality of life to a man who has sacrificed so much.
Wheelchair-accessible vans are exceptionally expensive, and the modifications required are not covered by insurance or VA benefits. Our goal is to raise enough to purchase a reliable van that accommodates his wheelchair and allows him to travel without fear or pain. Any donation — big or small — brings us one step closer to giving my dad the mobility and independence he deserves. If you’re unable to give, sharing this campaign means just as much. Thank you for honoring his service, his story, and his continued fight for a better life. Our family is deeply grateful.
