Wheelchair Van for the Potthoff’s
Donation protected
Paul was diagnosed with spinocerebellar ataxia in 2007. http://neurology.about.com/od/Movement/a/Spinocerebellar-Ataxia.htm It is a degenerative disease that affects his gait, balance and speech. It is starting to affect his quality of life by limiting his movement and ability to get up and out. He has been unable to work since 2015. They have purchased a wheelchair van to allow him a life outside of the home and get him to physical , occupational, and speech therapy. Paul was an outgoing, active, life-of-the-party type of guy. In recent years he has become quiet and reserved. With the purchase of the van, there is hope that his personality can be restored and some freedom felt in the ability to get out of the house.
Paul and Mary’s family have created this GoFundMe page to provide an opportunity for their friends and family to help with these expenses. The beneficiary of this campaign is his wife of 25 years, Mary. She will withdraw the funds to cover the cost and maintenance of the van.
Thanks in advance for your love, prayers and support.
