Wheelchair Van for Shawn

My name is Shawn, I was born as an emergency c-section and due to complications was without oxygen for a while causing scar tissue to form on the base of my brain. I need a wheelchair to get around as I have cerebral palsy like symptoms and can not sit up or walk because of low muscle tone. I can't talk and sometimes have problems eating and can choke easy. I was also born with real bad club feet and have had to have some surgeries to help correct them. I now need to go in for some more surgeries to help straighten my legs and lengthen my hamstrings. I take a lot of trips to Portland to go to the hospitals for my check ups, because I need a lot of help from all the different specialists there.

We are having to buy a wheelchair van earlier then we were hoping to because Shawn is going to have to have more surgery on his legs in September. He is going to be in full leg casts for about 4-6 weeks and needs to rent a special reclining wheelchair, so without the van we would be unable to get around together. Having the wheelchair van would also help make all his future appointments and daily trips easier.

We are getting a Dodge Caravan that we are having converted into a wheelchair companion van, and are trying to raise some money for the wheelchair conversion. It takes about 8 weeks for the work to be done so we are trying to raise as much as we can to put towards it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you with love from the Nikula-Knowles family.
