It’s with heavy hearts that we share this update. In March of 2023, our beautiful mom was diagnosed with ALS — a cruel and aggressive disease that has progressed far more quickly than we ever expected. In just over a year, she has lost most of her mobility and is now fully wheelchair-bound. Her days are filled with physical challenges, and our dad has stepped into the role of full-time caregiver — lovingly and tirelessly, though it’s taken a visible toll on him too.
We are now at the point of needing a wheelchair-accessible van to safely transport Mom to her appointments, outings, and moments of joy outside the home. In addition to that, we are raising a bit extra to give our parents the opportunity to enjoy some time together — to create memories, even in the midst of hardship.
God has been our stronghold through this valley. We’ve witnessed His goodness in the love, prayers, and support that so many of you have already poured out over our family. Please know there is no obligation to give, but if you feel led and are able to help financially, it would mean the world to us.
Every donation, prayer, and share helps lift this burden. Thank you for walking with us. We know we’re not alone — and we are deeply grateful.
With love,
[Morgan Heintz / The DeCosta Family]
