Wheelchair Van for Mike Gianfriddo

We really need your help right now with a down payment towards a new wheelchair accessible vehicle. Having a way to transport Mike with his power chair has made it possible for him to continue to enjoy life outside of our house. I’m not sure what will happen if we cannot get another van. Mike struggles everyday with severe chronic pain and does not leave the couch most days. If you know him, you know that he would give you the shirt off his back, if he could. He is always there to help with fundraisers and benefits, donating his time as much as he can, and will continue to do so, God willing.

We hate asking for help, but we see no other way right now, and some of you have offered, if we set this up, so here goes. Thank you soooooo much!

Just want you to know the “why” we need your help:

One year ago, we were able to purchase a used wheelchair van through a private sale for $13,000. At that time, the van passed inspection and seemed to be a great purchase. We did have some maintenance/repairs that needed to be done, recently, so we brought it to our mechanic. At that time, he informed us that the frame was cracked in 3 places and is not safe for transporting people.

We then took it to a dealer, to see what we could get for it, as a trade, and they cannot resell due to the cracked frame and that it’s rotted from front to back and halfway up the firewall. They will take it, and try to wholesale, but it’s worth nothing as a trade.

Ultimately, we have no money to put down on another vehicle, and we are still paying off that $13,000. If we have a down payment, this will make the payments more affordable on another used van. These vans are extremely expensive, new, or used.

If we can raise $10,000, that would be insane, $5000 would be incredible, but any amount would help, and we would be extremely appreciative and grateful. You have no idea how much!
