Wheelchair Van for Ian

Donation protected
This is our friend Ian.  All who know this young man love and admire him.  Despite the challenges and obstacles he faces every day, he’s always happy and just thoroughly enjoys life.  Because He’s such an amazing guy and brings so many of us such joy, we’re hoping we can do the same for him and bring a little his way.  You see, Ian desperately needs a new van. He is unable to do many things he not only wants to, but also needs to because his van has finally taken its last ride.  His Mom used to take him everywhere, but over the past few years their van has been undependable at best. Mom has limited outings, events and even being able to utilize some services that would otherwise be available to them due to the persistent problems.  Ian would love go to visit friends and being the guy he is, He’s got them all over New England, but they haven’t so in yrs because they’re  afraid van won’t make it. Getting stuck on the road with a 200lb quadriplegic and a 400lb power chair is more than Mom has been willing to see if she could manage. He needs to be able to get to appointments and have his aids or companions be able to get him there. He would like to take some classes and perhaps start a music review video blog, but needs to be able to get to venues to do so …etc.

His passion is music; In fact that’s how many of us met Ian.  We were either drawn to his enthusiasm amongst us in the crowd, or captivated by his singing and outstanding stage presence. He’s amazing and fearless!  He doesn’t have an ounce of stage fright and has joined many artists throughout his years to share the joy of music.  Having explored quite a bit when he was younger, he’s had a taste of what’s being missed now. As much as he loves music, he also loves a good “Road Trip” ~ combining the two; Mom has promised him that when they get a dependable vehicle, she will take him on a road trip to visit the Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame!  I know our goal seems like a lot, but even used these specialized vehicles are not cheap. I’ve attached a few examples of such, and what we hope to see Ian on the road again in soon. Please help us in not only enabling his Mom to be able to make her promise come to life, but in providing him with a safe dependable vehicle allowing him some independence and so much more.

Thank you
