I made this gofundme to financially help with the cost of a brand new wheelchair van that I was able to get fully adapted to my daughter's needs.
Helena is now 8 years old, manual transfers are becoming more difficult and dangerous. Lawsuit-wise we are still waiting for a court date and have never seen any financial compensation to help with all of my daughter's special needs since she is disabled.
I put myself through a debt of almost 69k to have a vehicle meeting the criteria for the needed adaptation so that I can keep taking my daughter to her medical appointments/therapies and take her outside for activities. I'm not allowed the help of my municipality special needs transportation because I live in a rural area and they do not come to my address as I live outside of their limit zone.
It's a huge debt that I would have never gotten myself into normally, but years are passing and she is getting taller, gaining weight, manual transfers are becoming harder and also dangerous for both of us. I am tired of waiting year after year for a compensation that I still haven't seen to this day.
I do not expect to have the vehicle fully paid for, but it would be a huge relief to lower the financed amount, because this is a huge debt for me that I had to put myself through because of an act of violence coming from her old daycare.

Bonjour, je m'appelle Shanie. Je suis la maman d'Hélena qui a malheureusement eu le syndrome du bébé secoué dans son milieu de garde il y a de cela plus de 7 ans maintenant.
Je fais ce gofundme afin de m'aider à rembourser la vannette que j'ai achetée à des fins d'adaptation pour ma fille qui est en chaise roulante.
Hélena a maintenant 8 ans, alors les transferts à bras deviennent de plus en plus difficiles et dangereux. Côté poursuite contre les assurance, cela ne bouge pas vite et je n'ai jamais eu de compensation à ce jour pour m'aider avec les frais liés à l'handicap sévère de ma fille.
Je viens de me mettre dans une dette de près de 69k pour avoir une voiture qui répond aux besoins de ma fille afin que je puisse continuer à l'apporter à ses nombreux rendez-vous et faire des sorties en dehors de la maison avec elle. Je n'ai pas le droit au transport adapté de ma ville car j'habite en milieu rural et mon adresse dépasse leur limite.
C'est une grosse dette que je ne m'aurais jamais mise sur le dos en temps normal, mais les années passent, elle grandit, prend du poids tout devient plus difficile, je suis à bout d'attendre année après année pour une compensation financière qui n'est toujours pas là...
Je ne m'attends pas à recevoir de l'aide pour payer la voiture au complet, mais ce serait un énorme soulagement de pouvoir diminuer le montant financé, car c'est une dette énorme pour moi dans laquelle je me suis mise à cause d'un acte de violence de son ancienne gardienne.
