Wheelchair Ramp for Jess
Donation protected
On September 17, 2021, after picking up her son from school, our dear friend Jess fell from the steps, badly spraining one ankle and incurring multiple dislocation fractures in the other one. After having the bone reset a few times, a surgery that involved a plate and a couple screws, and an inpatient rehab stay, Jess is now confined to her living room while she heals.
Jess is the sole provider for her family. While she is currently able to work from home, her doctor has warned her recovery will be at least six months, and her future mobility needs are uncertain.
This injury happened while she was recovering from having 60% of her thyroid surgically removed. Jess is fiercely independent, but she's reached the end of what she can do without help.
She has a portable ramp, but it does not cover her threshold steps and she cannot safely use it. Her immediate need is a secure, professional ramp.
Any funds raised here will go toward the purchase and installation of a proper wheelchair ramp. We appreciate the love, prayers, and support during Jess' rehabilitation and will give you updates on her progress.
