Wheelchair Push to fund a wheelchair for the event in May 25
Donation protected
Hi - My name is Scott Dwyer, and my story is in September 2022, I fell from a rooftop scaffold ladder whilst renovating windows around 20-25 feet high and on impact, I fractured my spine, and broke both my legs and ankles with pilon fractures throughout, broke my shoulder in three places and had a head injury......with 41 days in Major trauma and in a wheelchair for the past two and a half years. I simply owe the team of Magpas Air Ambulance my life for their attendance, sedating and operating on me at the scene, and I will be forever grateful. Wind the clock forward, I am five surgeries down and four to go - and whilst being told I may never walk again - despite the pain, I am on crutches for minimal distances. I have decided my starting challenge is to push 100 miles in my wheelchair carrying the external fixation cage and with the shoulder requiring further surgery - this will be a tough challenge. I hope to raise enough money to renovate a second hand wheelchair to complete my training and complete the event through May 2025, ideally looking for around six corporate sponsors to donate around £500 - which will cover the cost of the wheelchair rebuild and renovation including new wheels and castors to improve on my current wheelchair - which is very tough training on a standard wheelchair...... Any donations would be amazing and would assist in helping me complete the challenge. thank you!
