Wheelchair & Mobility Service Dog Needed

Donation protected

My Wheelchair Service Dog Miss Pennylane died December 23, 2020, from a Tumor crushing her brain stem after it began to grow again, 8 months after radiation treatment at Washington State University failed to stop it in April, for good. Compounded by falling 6 times into a trench our landlord “Manyhands” left open, around our little trailer for 3 months regardless of repeated requests to make it safe, it remains open even today. He refuses to put down gravel so now it’s so slippery I can’t use my wheelchair and I twist my ankles and back repeatedly. Even medical transports and septic services refuse to try and get access the property. I fear I may also fall into the trench as well, so I always carry a 'Fall Indicator' and my Cell Phone to call for help, just in case. Even Care Givers decline working in this dangerous environment.

I desperately need a new Service Dog as soon as possible to help me with mobility, balance, depression and PTSD recovery. Especially in the Toxic and unsafe conditions I've gotten myself into.

In 2003 a 90lb bail of hay fell off a Semi-truck, hitting me and after 10 years of surgeries I still need my wheelchair and help as I learn to walk again with physical therapy, but I’m lost without my Service Dog.

Training is difficult and expensive and the waiting list of needy disabled is too long for Free Service Dogs so I’m left little choice but to beg on the street corners of Eugene until I can raise the funds I need. More than 10,000 People of Eugene financed Miss Penny’s medical expenses in excess of $36,450.74 since 2018 to 2020. Hopefully you all will still help me get a new Service Dog. I just couldn't get the financial help she needed during the summer plague & fire of 2020, to save her. Sorry to be such a nuisance but I gotta try. Who can afford costs like these? So many hurt people tell me they had to let there best friends die because the costs are too much. I'd have to live alone with me and that's scary, so I need a friend that will love me anyway.

If I don’t get help soon I’m afraid I may end up back in the wheelchair again only permanently this next injury. My next Surgery was scheduled for Feb 8, 2021, but it was rescheduled for Feb 22, because a New Service Dog candidate opportunity presented itself available Feb 7, in Southern California. She is 11 months old so i will be catching a train to San Jose on a Pilgrimage to get her and bring her back by train. Her Name is Sophia and her Service Dog Training is scheduled to begin April 25, 2021, over a 5 week period at $1,300.00 per week.

Regardless of paying 14 months rent in advance I can’t survive here but he has trapped me here with the trench, a muddy swamp and refuses to put in the road he promised so I can’t even get out.

I need an RV Space somewhere that is safe, I could trade land maintenance or rent when I can walk again and can operate my tractor again.

I’m 65 years old, all alone and need a loyal friend to help me with the remaining years of my life. The loss of my Miss Penny has left me with a broken heart and little hope for a future. With the backing of more than a thousand people of the Eugene Community I was able to raise the funds to get another Service Dog to assist me for my remaining years. Thank you all and especially those who donated all the funds to try and save Miss Penny from her cancer.

Now comes the hard part of training Miss Sophie who has taken to pulling my wheelchair with exuberance and targeting behaviors to be focused on door opening and Disabled Door Triggers. She has taken to her new role in life and has been very affectionate with all who meet her, except those who are truly hateful and evil she will not allow to approach me and fortunately there have only been a few of those and 1 is my Landlord "Manyhands" and his crew of 2, one of which, Danial P. (03/14/21), tried to stab her in the chest with a 12 inch nail spike in one hand and a 3 foot pipe in his left hand while his friend filmed the attempted assault, but left quickly when I called 911.

I am honored to have shared our intimate cancer struggle with the thousands who have donated so much and have already begun to step up to help ‘us’ yet again. Destiny has clearly brought Specialized Service Dog Trainers to me.

I will attempt to update all this new information as soon as possible with PHOTOS of my New Baby Girl Sophia "Queen of Heaven"
