Hello,
Everyone,I am reaching out to you today with a heavy heart, but with a lot of hope. My husband, Patrick, is facing a massive medical battle, and we desperately need our community's help to get him through it. Patrick recently suffered a shattered foot and is about to undergo a major, highly complex surgery — three surgeries combined into one. Because of how severe the damage is, his doctors have informed us that he will not be able to walk for the next 6 months to a year. Even before this injury, Patrick struggled with severe pre-existing health conditions that required him to use a walker. This surgery will completely take away what little mobility he had left. Why we are asking for help we live entirely off of Patrick's monthly disability check, and financially, we are just barely scraping by. We have fought hard to get him the equipment he needs, but insurance has officially denied us three times. My husband is a big man—he is 6’7” and weighs 356 lbs. because of his size, a standard manual wheelchair does not work for him. He requires a specialized, heavy-duty electric wheelchair built for his frame so he can safely navigate his recovery and maintain a shred of independence. Up until now, I have been doing my best to physically push Patrick around. However, I was recently diagnosed with carpal tunnel syndrome and a progressive back disease. My body can no longer handle the physical strain without causing permanent damage to myself. I love my husband more than words can say, but I am physically broken down and can no longer be his engine. How the funds will be used because insurance has closed every door, our only option left is to purchase this medical equipment out-of-pocket. Every dollar raised through this fundraiser will go directly toward:the retail cost of a specialized bariatric electric wheelchair built for his height and weight. Necessary delivery, setup, and immediate medical recovery accessories .We are watching the days tick down to his major surgery date, and the panic is setting in. If you are able to donate, no amount is too small—every single dollar brings us closer to keeping him safe and mobile. If you cannot donate, please consider sharing our link with your friends, family, and church groups. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your prayers, your kindness, and your support during the hardest chapter of our lives .
With love and gratitude,
]Andrea Brown
