Wheelchair for Curly

Donation protected

I am a mental health therapist in a small town just South of Dallas, TX.
A year ago I decided to foster an 11 pound Bichon Frise named Curly.  I  read on
Facebook that he had cancer and was going  to have one of his back legs
amputated.  The post was asking for a foster home so  Curly would not have to go back into the shelter to heal.    I just didn't think putting him back in the shelter
was fair or right,  considering the traumatic surgery he was about to go through,
so I signed up to be a foster parent.

From the first day out of the hospital Curly started coming with me to work.  I
could keep my eye on him as he healed.   After months of recovering, he finally
healed and his personality started to emerge.

Although I tried hard not to get attached, over the months he wormed his way
into my heart and the hearts of my clients.  On the day I told Curly he would be
staying with me, he started running around all over the backyard with his ears
flying back!  I had never even seen him run at that point!

Recently Curly sprained his one back leg.  He cannot walk on surfaces that are
slick/smooth (tile or linoleum)   or on gravel or rocks.  He cannot even step up a
curb  any longer or the 2 inches high door jam back into the house.   To make
matters worse, he has gained some weight because he cannot go on walks with
his sprain.

So I decided to do a oGofundme page to see if others would like to partner with
me to purchase him a wheelchair.  With the Corona Virus my business is down
but I can't stand seeing Curly struggle to walk.

Walkin Pets has a chair that would be made especially for him.  He has to have
the 4 wheeled chair because his two front legs have no muscle tone.   Before he
was rescued (and before his surgery), he had been tied up outside for hours and
left in one place.  His muscles simply did not develop.

If you would like to help Curly get his wheelchair, (like the picture below), please
consider giving any amount.   Of course as a therapist, I believe all lives matter -
even our four legged friends.
