Wheelchair for Ahmed

Asalamualaykum wa rahmatullah,

Those that know me know that since I moved to Morocco 9 years back, every once in a while I reach out in the hopes of finding people to help when I see cases that really touch my heart.

Recently, a young 13 year old boy, Ahmed Alaoui, in our neighbourhood, in Morocco was recently in a moped accident. Unfortunately, he can now no longer walk. He can slightly move his left leg with a lot of effort, but otherwise can not move from his waist down.

His family are not very well off, his mother a cleaner (earning 1500 MAD/£125 a month), and his father a garbage man (earning 2200MAD/£183 a month). Alhamdulillah we were able to get Ahmed a manual push wheelchair which is what he has been using since coming home from hospital.

Drs have said that his prognosis is for life and are not offering any physiotherapy sessions for Ahmed, and his parents can't afford to investigate privately or give private physiotherapy sessions for him.

Ahmed is a little soldier and has taken it in his stride. He has completely accepted that this is his fate but he is struggling to get accustomed to his new life.

We are now trying to raise funds to get Ahmed an electric wheelchair, in the hopes that it can help him get back to life. As it stands with just the manual wheelchair if his parents are not around then he has no one to push him. And as the school year has already started, Ahmed has been unable to to go to school as he has no one to push him around and the public school system doesn't finance aides.

Ahmed is taking not going back to school the hardest. He was a grade A student and 3rd in his class with hopes of becoming a pharmologist when he was older. To take away a childs education just because they are now disabled enrages me and that is why I am trying my hardest to help this family and raise funds to get Ahmed an electric wheelchair.

The cheapest electric wheelchair available is 19900 MAD/£1660 and alhamdulillah between us and some neighbours who have been available to help we have raised just under 8500 MAD/£700 and are reaching out to anyone who can help by donating or even sharing amongst family/friends.

Please help us help Ahmed by donating.

Let's help Ahmed get back to school.
Let's help Ahmed follow his dreams for the future.
Let's help Ahmed get some independance.

JazakAllah Khairan

May Allah subhana wa taala accept any amount donated as sadaqah from anyone who contributes and may He allow it to be part of your shade on the day of judgement.
May Allah ease the affairs of anyone struggling and unable to donate.
May Allah grant shifaa and sabr to those going through illness or bad health.
May Allah continue to grant Ahmed and his family sabr and acceptance of His qadr.
