Hi, my name is Finn, and recently NDIS has defunded supports for my physical disabilities and psychosocial disabilities. NDIS is now only funding support for my autism diagnosis. I am an ambulatory wheelchair user with a broken wheelchair that I cannot self propel in.

I have multiple physical disabilities that mean I cannot walk for longer than 10 minutes, I cannot stand for longer than 15 minutes, and I cannot self propel myself in a manual wheelchair for longer than 5 minutes. I have fibromyalgia that has become severe due to chemotherapy treatment I had 2 years ago for blood cancer. I also have autoimmune arthritis in my hips and back, as well as hypermobility that causes my joints to be unstable. I live in constant pain and fatigue. I have tried most treatments available for my fibromyalgia and have been told I basically only have one more option, and if that doesn't work they dont know what to do.

Pain is the biggest thing that disables me. I cannot go out by myself as I cannot self propel my broken manual wheelchair. All I want to do is go to the grocery store by myself, without risking pain, flare ups, fatigue that leads to days bedridden, without the risk of fainting or falling over. I want to be able to go to university without my support worker as my support worker hours have been decreased and I need the support to help maintain my household.

This fund-raiser is to help fund my electric wheelchair that will make me be able to access the community on my terms again. Without it, I cannot use public transport, I can barely make it to doctors appointments that are necessary to keep me alive.

I have found the cheapest but best for my needs foldable electric wheelchair with the necessary accessories. Its not what my OT says I need but I cannot even think about the amount of money I would need for that wheelchair.

This wheelchair is currently on sale at $1599 AUD but im not certain I would be able to raise the money while this sale is on. UPDATE this wheelchair has increased by $200, and now is $1799 AUD.
