Wheelchair and Rehab for Abby

Hi, my name is Julie and I have the privilege of caring for a 4 year old pit bull mix named Abby. On November 2nd 2022 she was diagnosed with Pelvic Limb Paraplegia aka paralysis of the back legs. This diagnosis was a literal shock to my partner and me, as she is quite young and this seemed to come out of nowhere. We were faced with the difficult decision to either euthanize her or have her live the rest of her life without usage of her hind legs. We chose to fight for her and bring her home. Regardless of how difficult they told us it would be, we knew we couldn't give up on her. The first 30 days are proving to be difficult and one of us has to be by her side at all times. After this first month while her spine "heals" (grows scar tissue to hopefully stop the pain) then she can be fitted for a wheelchair and live a more active/normal life. Due to this situation I had to take a leave of absence from my job as caretaking for her is a full time job. We are starting acupuncture and cold laser therapy and then after the 30 days rest we will begin weekly rehab and hydrotherapy. We are willing to do anything we can to help alleviate her pain/stress. However these things are proving to be quite costly and the bills are starting to stack up. If you could find a few extra dollars to help us out on this journey it would be so greatly appreciated.
