I would like to ask for your help in raising money to pay for a van with wheelchair access, for a woman who is a single mum of three children, one of whom is permanently in a wheelchair. Currently, she has a sedan, and has to lift him in and out of the car and into his wheelchair, which, as anyone who has had to lift a child over the age of 10 will know, is going to cause serious physical injuries to herself unless she is able to get a more suitable vehicle.

This mum is doing it tough enough - she is renting a house with no wheelchair accessibility or compatible bathroom, she is unable to get a job due to her limited availability and having to be ready to collect her son from school at any point of the day, and she is battling with other very difficult family and domestic situations, that I won't go into detail about.

Needless to say, her circumstances are at a critical point of stress and desperation, and I would dearly love to see our wider community come together to make a big difference in her life. To have the physical strain significantly lifted will be an overwhelming relief to her, and will be beneficial well into the future of her son. So I implore you to please open your hearts and your pockets as wide as you can, and give what you might give to any one of your family members in this situation.

I'm aiming big, because a new car will be the most ideal - hassle free motoring for at least 5 years under warranty. To buy a new car of this kind is not cheap, and I'm basing the goal amount on a new Volkswagon multipurpose van. There are other vans that can be modified for wheelchair access, which she may prefer, but lets aim high and see what we can raise. Thankyou all, I know we can do this.
