Developmental Editor for my Debut Manuscript

Hi everyone! I'm Aiyana a 25-year-old Black writer from Miami! I just finished up the first draft of my manuscript, SOUTH BLOC, and am attempting to enter the world of publishing. This industry is no joke and is already proving difficult to break into, so I'm hoping to raise money to acquire an editor that will help me workshop my manuscript to get it to where it needs to be so I can obtain an agent! I'm really excited about this project and I am hoping to raise enough to afford an editor to take this on!

A little about the book: It is a YA Speculative Fiction coming of age story set in the near future. The novel explores the what-ifs of a world where rampant censorship and intolerance toward racial diversity and integration go unchecked. [A seventeen-year-old Nzinga Carter learns her all-Black community is just one of many enclosed blocs scattered across the remnants of the United States — after the deadly race war. She fights to find out: “What do we lose by not knowing our past?”]

I started writing this project after watching my home state and other local governments enact laws to try to erase history, struggle, and critical race theory. Any and all donations would be greatly appreciated. xx
