Blah Blah Productions presents the original, comedy show 'What's Wrong With Me?- The Musical' (Book and Lyrics by Jess Coppen-Gardner & Rosalyn Miller.)
This has been a long time coming! I came up with the idea for this musical about 4 years ago and Rosalyn and I have been working on it together ever since. I'm so happy to announce that 'What's Wrong With Me?-The Musical' will be performed at The Lion and Unicorn Theatre on the 4th, 5th and 6th of August as part of The Camden Fringe.
I am producing the show with the wonderful Annie Gibbons and I am so grateful for everyone that I'm currently working on the project with. We will be casting the musical in the next coming weeks and I would love to be able to pay the actors/crew fairly for the time and effort they put into this project. I've been ambitious with a 6 person cast and I want to make sure everyone gets something for the time spent on preparation, expenses, travel costs, rehearsals and performance dates. We will be using these performances as a stepping stone to build a solid cast and crew to take the show to more venues in the future. I would be so grateful for any support in making this show happen!
A little bit more about the show:
An original, comedy musical set in a 5 day self-help retreat following a group of people with all sorts of first world problems; such as Paul, a man with severe toxic masculinity, Jasmine, a young adult that is so woke that they struggle to live life without questioning how much plastic is in everything and Karen, the sexaholic. Osmond, the yogi leader of the retreat, helps them on their 5 day journey to self-acceptance but he may not be the wise superior they believe him to be. All looks as it is going well until Andy, a man in his 50’s muddling his way through being a ‘new gay’, goes missing. Now the group must band together to find Andy but will they discover the answer to the question ‘What’s Wrong With Me?’
‘The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee’ meets ‘Avenue Q.’ ‘What’s Wrong With Me?-The Musical’ is an ensemble show featuring contemporary songs such as ‘Set Fire To The Fear’ and ‘Teach Me How to Downward Dog’, a song full to the brim with yoga innuendos. This musical tackles the problems of modern life with wit and laughter and will have the audience walking away thinking ‘there’s nothing wrong with me!’
Please support the show in whatever way you can (you've probably heard me banging on about it for long enough) and I'd love to see you on the 4th, 5th, and 6th at The Lion and Unicorn Theatre!
