No Human Is Limited.
My name is Katharina and I'm in love with running.
Why?
Because I love the way it makes me feel and it reminds me of how wonderful life can be when you are able to do what you love and what you are passionate about.
Running makes me feel strong
Running makes me feel confident
Running makes me believe in myself even if no one else does.
Running makes me believe that I can achieve anything !
And all this, is the best feeling in the world!
Being able to do what I love, is a privilege and I consider myself very lucky.
Unfortunately we are not all born with the same ability and some people are restricted from doing sports due to disabilities.
Should they therefore not follow their passion and be excluded from participating in sports and competitions?
N O
What they need instead is help from the society, more specific :
Us, you and me!
Recently I ran the Shanghai Marathon and I spotted a blind runner being accompanied by a guide runner. They were connected with a rope and another guide was running behind them.
The blind runner participated in the same race as me, he was not limited by his disability.

That got me thinking:
Finding and retaining a guide runner for a blind athlete who might be training eight or nine times a week, especially one committed enough and fast enough can be a mammoth and time consuming task in itself. - not to forget the costs which are involved!
Therefore I have decided to participate in the London Marathon 2019 and dedicate this race to helping disabled people achieving their goals in sports!
Because they are just like me, eager to accomplish personal victories in sports! We are in this together
I am running for Get Kids Going UK, a national charity which gives disabled children and young people the opportunity of participating in sport.
Therefore the funds I am collecting, will be invested to provide those in need with specially built sports equipment so that they can do whatever they are passionate without being limited by their disability. Whether it be running marathons, athletics, tennis skiing, rugby, basketball, snowboarding, archery etc
The organization provides help in form of providing the right equipment (for example wheelchairs) and also the necessary preparation (physiology and other treatments) as well as manpower (guide runners) to be able to make this happen!
They also support and inspire the youngsters to compete in sporting events like the Paralympics.
Their aim is to give support their athletes also to participate in international competitions such as the 2020 Tokyo Summer Paralympics as well as the Beijing Winter Paralympics in 2022
There are hundreds of talented, disabled young people who have the potential to participate in events all over the world but receive either little or no funding and are so passionate and dedicated to what they love.
Whatever sports it is one is passionate about, I believe there should be no limitations.
Please join me in helping the organization to continue to break the boundaries of limitations by providing the necessary help so that they can live their dreams!
To feel strong.
To feel confident
To believe in themselves
To make them believe they can achieve anything

Thank you so much for your help and kind donation for this wonderful cause!

-- Updates about my runs until LONDON --

I ran my first ever Marathon in Gold Coast, Australia
A lack of experience, overtraining and having literally no clue resulted in being injured with knee pain and overall inflamed legs
Pretty much against all voices from friends and family, I flew to Australia by myself and completed the Marathon in 04:52 in pain but won the price as happiest person ever

18/11/2018
Shanghai Marathon
My second Marathon. I loved every km out of the 42k, focussed on being happy and I finished in 03:50

02/12/2018
Santa - Run for Wishes Run
10km fun run and I came in 5th female.
But most important it was an event organised by the Make A Wish foundation Singapore who grants wishes for children with life threatening medical conditions and I was glad to run for this great cause
