Hi, I’m Asua, a filmmaker with over a decade of directing commercials for global brands, now chasing my dream of creating bold, original stories. The Beyond is my sci-fi short film pilot, a passion project years in the making, and I need your help to make it a reality. Jiro’s Story: A Warrior’s Quest
Picture Jiro, a warrior inspired by Yasuke, the legendary Black samurai, stranded on a hostile alien planet. Forged by centuries of war, Jiro craves a challenge to test his limits. Alone in a glowing, treacherous jungle, he’s haunted by the loss of his tribe, stolen by a ruthless enemy. When a mysterious object crashes, it unleashes a reality-bending force unlike anything he’s faced, pushing him to the brink of life and death. The Beyond is Jiro’s fight for redemption, a pulse-pounding tale of resilience and discovery, brought to life with jaw-dropping VFX and heart-pounding stunts.
Why We’re Fundraising
We’re in the final stretch, filming an epic combat scene in Vietnam’s lush jungles, which double as our alien world. My team—including award-winning cinematographer Ross Metcalf (I Am Mother) and lead actor Kelvin Taylor—has already poured our hearts and savings into this project. Now, we need your help to fund:
- Professional stunt team for Jiro’s samurai-inspired fight choreography
- VFX and CGI to create the alien jungle and reality-bending entity
- Color grading and sound design for a cinematic polish
- Studio hire and high-end camera gear (including anamorphic lenses) for stunning visuals
