What Did You Wish For? is an upcoming short film written and directed by Francesca Anselmo, Produced by William Li and Julianna Ilyes.

A young woman recounts her friendship with her ex-best friend and what exactly went wrong between them.

The Story

All Emma and Elizabeth had were each other. They did everything together. On a cold winter night, they spot a shooting star, and Emma urges Elizabeth to tell her what the wish she made was. Elizabeth refuses and the question is left unanswered. Years pass, and the two girls grow apart but the one question remains, What did Elizabeth Wish For?

What will the money be used for?

All the money raised will be used for the production costs of the film! The production costs include Craft Services, Costuming, Production Design, Locations and Film Equipment. Any left over or extra funds will go towards future festival submission fees!

Francesca Anselmo is a young Director and Photographer based in Toronto, Canada. Her previous work includes her first short film, Send Your Location (2023). Her work is inspired by the beauty of girlhood and relationships during the digital age. She hopes to create films that can combine the aesthetics of traditional cinematography with experimental techniques.

William Li is a film maker raised in Scarborough with a passion for producing dramas and documentaries. Some of the projects he has worked on include Brickworks (2022) and In The Same Place (2020).
