Trooper was born weighing 97 grams, whilst his siblings were all around 300 grams, we did not think he would make the first 24 hours but he did - hence him gaining his name Trooper - as that’s exactly what he was
Fast forward 7 weeks and although he was continuing to grow and thrive , he was still behind in size and weight.
At the routine vet appointment we were not surprised when they discovered Trooper had a severe heart murmur despite both parents and past generations being heart tested clear - nature can still throw you a curve ball , unfortunately they threw it at Trooper
5 days later, we were at Cheshire cardiology where Trooper received an echocardiogram which revealed grade 5 pulmonic stenosis
As Trooper was only 2kg , he was not a candidate for the surgery at that time , so the waiting began , every milestone he hit and he continued to grow as he should.
Trooper has been on beta blockers since his diagnosis and is now 7.5kg.
Another visit to the cardiologist yesterday revealed that Trooper was the perfect candidate for the surgery (Balloon Valvulopasty).
Unfortunately this will cost around five thousand pound , although my mum has been saving for this potential surgery , now he has the ‘go ahead’
when Emily has the team together hopefully January / February we could do with making up the extra this is not something my mum wanted to do and she has thought long and hard about this but it’s time she swallowed her pride and after never asking for anything from anyone it’s about time she should accept some help towards this expensive surgery - after all he is worth it
if anyone would like to donate even £1 this would be a huge help to such an expensive operation.
She has been raising funds herself but this will be greatly appreciated
