Whales
Margot is a successful Art Dealer, a woman at the edge whose cool, professional demeanor masks a deeply troubled storm within. When she finds out that she has a sister she never knew she had, she is launched into an emotional journey, which forces her to confront her past.
There are mysterious circumstances surrounding Margot's sister Louise being sent away at a very young age, which make it difficult for Margot to remember…
Separated by the passing of time and different upbringing the two women unexpectedly find their lives linked back together by the forces of remembrance and forgiveness.
Whales is a drama about a family’s secluded, twisted world. A homage to sisterhood and the impact secrets can have on our lives.

Cristina Toccafondi as Margot

What your funds will help us with?
Whales is a shorter version of a feature film script, and Nora and her team are hoping to get it made in the fall of 2018, with the help of German government funds and American private investors.
With the money raised we will be able to pay for our post production and distribution: A sound mixer, composer, colorist, editor as well as festival submission fees.
In order for us to tell this story about dark family secrets, seen from the perspective of two compelling female characters, Margot, and her sister Louise, we only need a little bit of help...
With Whales we want to make a film that recalls movies like "Persona" by Bergman "Swimmingpool" by Ozon and "Volver" by Almodovar. An independent drama/thriller with a very European "Art House" feel to it and an unexpected twist at the end.
