My name is James Thompson, Jr. I am currently the Director of Bands at Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia. It is with overwhelming dejection that I announce the stage four ovarian cancer diagnosis of our beloved guard instructor Michelle Owens. This diagnosis was devistating and unexpected; considering Michelle's young age.
Michelle has been a pillar of the Lassiter band program for nearly 18 years. Her enthusiasm, passion, and joy for the pageantry arts along with her effervescent smile has been wonderful for me to witness over the past 8 years. We would like to raise $100,000 to assist with medical expenses. Michelle has already received several rounds of chemotherapy. After years of giving to the Lassiter and the band community, it is my hope that we can collectively give a little something back to Michelle.
