My sweet girl Foxy is currently hospitalized at Guardian Veterinary Centre in Edmonton, Alberta. She was first admitted a few days ago and sent home with a guarded plan, but her condition has sadly worsened. She’s now been admitted again, and we still don’t have answers.
Foxy is lethargic, not eating, has been vomiting, and is no longer taking her medications. A few weeks ago, she showed signs of chronic kidney disease on ultrasound, but before we could even begin treatment, her appetite disappeared. Despite multiple attempts at medical support, she’s continued to decline.
She is scheduled to see an internal medicine specialist tomorrow. We’re doing everything we can to figure out what’s going on and get her the care she needs—but the emotional and financial toll is heavy.
I do have pet insurance, but it only covers a portion of her veterinary bills, and we’ve already exceeded the coverage cap in some areas. Her ongoing hospitalization, diagnostics, and specialist care are adding up quickly.
For those who don’t know me, my name is Shelby. I’m a Registered Veterinary Technologist and a multi-certified animal trainer. Foxy is not just my dog—she is my heart, my inspiration, and the reason I do the work I do. She’s also the face of my business, Foxy and the Hound Animal Training.
I’m not just asking for handouts—I’m doing everything I can to earn every dollar to help her. If you’d prefer to book a training session with me (in-person or virtual), that support means just as much.
If you’re able to donate, share, or book a session—anything at all helps, and I’m incredibly grateful. Thank you for being part of Foxy’s village.
With all my heart,
Shelby & Foxy
