For those who would like the full version of events to date:
What was supposed to be a fun trip to our parent's houses on the lake went south quickly after a mishap on the boat shortly after arriving.
On Sunday afternoon, after a long day of fun, Harry jumped off of the boat towards the dock, but he missed. Instead, his front feet made connection and his abdomen hit the dock—hard. We knew something was wrong right away and rushed him to the closest, and only available, emergency vet. We brought him home in the early morning hours thinking some pain killers would do the trick; unfortunately, they did not.
Harry continued to behave oddly the next day, so I brought him to a walk-in clinic. He was X-rayed and given another round of painkiller. He came home once more.
Tuesday he was even worse. We returned to the walk-in clinic and received an anti-nausea medications. He'd been vomiting up every ounce of water he'd had in the last 24 hours. At this point, Harry had not properly used the bathroom or consumed any food since Sunday morning and my concerns were mounting. By 3 PM, I knew something was very wrong and returned to the walk-in clinic demanding more testing. Bloodwork showed Harry to be in critical condition. His kidney, potassium, and WBC levels were off the charts, among other issues. After frantically being turned away by three emergency vet clinics because they were at capacity, we returned to the center we had been discharged from on Sunday.
With his bloodwork in hand, the triage team rushed him back and began administering fluids. He was finally assigned a vet near midnight. An ultrasound determined he abdomen was full of fluid—his bladder had ruptured. The vet was able to remove some, but not enough of this fluid—he was in a lot of pain.
As of Wednesday morning, Harry is awaiting pre-surgical clearance, then goes into surgery to repair his bladder. We are accepting all well-wishes, prayers, good vibes—whatever you do, we'll take it. Harry's bills are pretty extensive, especially since it took us far too many trips to get this diagnosis in the first place. We would be forever grateful to anyone who can donate even a small amount towards his care. We are not expecting a large handout from anyone, only hoping for help with a small portion of a bill that quickly surpassed our emergency funds.
If you've been lucky enough to meet Harry:
1) You've probably enjoyed his ear kisses,
2) Played an extreme round of ball, and
3) Fell immediately in love—he has a special talent for winning hearts in a way not many do, people and animals alike

UPDATE AUGUST 19, 2021:
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated and reached out to myself and Tyler Quigley. The outpouring of love and support we've received has completely overwhelmed us. We are so incredibly fortunate to have such supportive friends, family, and strangers who came together for us in this very scary moment. The last 72 hours were traumatic, to say the least.
Here's the latest update on Harry:
Harry made it through surgery last night and is awake and moving today! His labs are improving, but there are still some that are concerning so they’re continuing to monitor them to make sure everything comes back into normal range before giving him the ok to come home.
Once in surgery, the doctor found that his bladder was torn from end to end, which made it a more difficult surgery than anticipated. We will have to keep a close eye on things to make sure it was fully successful. Because of this the vet is keeping him at the hospital another 48 hours on a catheter to be completely sure his bladder is emptying. He also had quite a bit of internal bruising and will be in pain for some time.
All in all, he appears to be on the mend and we should be able to bring our boy home within the week if things continue along this path
We are so thankful to the team who got him in and kept him as comfortable as possible throughout this process. Nothing we could say or do will ever be enough to express how grateful we are that Harry made it through. In case it wasn't already super, super obvious, we are huge dog people and our boys are truly family.
Thank you all again for your kind words, your donations, your shares, and your love for Harry and for us. Harry may not know how incredibly loved he is, but we'll do our best to pass along the message for the rest of his (hopefully very long) life.
