This is Taylor Jones. She is one of the sweetest human beings that I have ever met.
We met outside of Walmart on a 100-degree day. I bought her some water and food and sat down and chatted with her for a while.
She has fallen on devastating times and is desperate to find a job in the Joliet area. When I gave her the food, she said, “I want to work for my keep, I’m willing to work, I’m a hard worker!”
She had all of her ID stolen along with her car a while back and is currently unhoused. She recently was able to obtain a copy of her social security card, and I will be working with her to get a new hard copy of her government ID and birth certificate.
I have some employment leads for this lovely lady, but I’m raising money to help her get some clothing and toiletries as well as pay for the cost of replacement documentation. She is currently staying at a local hotel but will have to check out today due to lack of funds. This means she will be back out on the street.
I spoke with the hotel manager and he said she is always alone, always respectful, and a very nice young woman.
How many times have we had to call on our friends or family members for a little help? How many of us could be in this situation if we didn’t have family or friends and lost a job?
I believe in second chances and I believe that everyone deserves and needs a helping hand now and then.
I am willing to take a chance on this beautiful human being, but I need your help! Anything will help, a few dollars or a lot of dollars.
I will be directly responsible for distributing the funds in a way that will address the most pressing needs for Taylor, with the ultimate goal of getting her back into the workforce.
As a single mom, I need your help to make this happen!
We always talk about extending kindness to others. Here is a chance to literally put our money where our mouth is!
Thank you all so much in advance. May your generosity be rewarded tenfold ❤️
