Help Remi Get Back on His Paws

Remi’s surgery is officially scheduled for October 20th, and we’re doing everything we can to get ready, but we still need all the help we can get as the day approaches.

Our sweet, hyperactive boy is over being on house arrest. He misses his walks, his playtime, and his brothers. You can see it in his eyes, he wants to get back to being himself again. It breaks our hearts to see him restless and frustrated, but we keep reminding him (and ourselves) that help is on the way.

Hi, let me tell you about Remington. He’s a Husky-Heeler mix that just turned six, and yes, his zodiac sign is Leo.

I’m here asking for your help.

Two weeks ago, Remi was playing off-leash with his brothers when, out of nowhere, he started to limp and couldn’t put weight on his left leg. We rushed him to Dr. Stephens in Boulder, who told us Remi needs TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) surgery. It’s a common surgery for dogs with a torn ACL (in dogs, it’s called the cranial cruciate ligament, or CCL).

The cost of surgery is about $7,000. That’s a massive amount for us, but Remi deserves the best. And if you’ve ever had someone you know is the right choice, you’ll understand why we feel so strongly about Dr. Stephens. He cared for Remi when he tore his ligament back in 2022, and since then, he’s earned both my respect and my trust. He’s the only one I believe can give my boy the care he needs.

Remi is more than a dog; he’s family, our buddy, and the one who makes our days brighter.
