YWAM Missions to Montana and Taiwan

Hello there!
We wanted to take some time to share with you an exciting journey that the Lord has taken us on the last month or so! We felt the Lord leading us in the direction of applying for an Endurance Discipleship Training School (EDTS) through Youth With A Mission (YWAM) in Montana!
Let me pause here to share some information on YWAM. Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups, and Christian traditions, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world. Also known as YWAM (pronounced “WHY-wham”), they unite in a common purpose to know God and to make Him known.
Back when they began in 1960, their main focus was to get youth involved in missions. Today, they still focus on youth, and also involve people aged 8 to 80. They are currently work in more than 1,100 locations in over 180 countries, with a staff of over 18,000.
This particular school in Montana focuses on the outdoor industry, teaching students the skills needed to survive the wilderness. Some of the activities include backpacking trips, rope courses, rock climbing, mountaineering etc. Their goal and heart is to train the students in these skills to outreach to the outdoor industry, bring Jesus to hard to reach places, and to train students to go into job market with these skills.
We have always loved the outdoors and fell in love with the idea of having an adventure together! We feel the Lord leading us into the mountains to encounter him, build our relationship, and kick start our callings.
We had looked into this particular EDTS last year, but the timing didn't feel right. Around the end of April, God put it on our hearts again. We looked into the school a bit more, thinking we had missed the deadline to apply. We found that we had not and spent several days seeking counsel and praying into the possibility of going. We had a short time to make a decision as the school begins July 1 and runs through December 4th. We felt a huge peace about it, even though it would mean we have to flip our lives upside down. We moved forward in faith and began the application process. We gave notice to our landlords to move out and move in with Cody's parents for the month of June. This would help us to save some money for the school. The day before we submitted our applications, we found out that the school was full and there was a waiting list. We prayed and felt that we should still move forward.
Well, June 3rd we got the long awated call that we had been accepted into the EDTS!! The school runs July 1 through December 4, 2015. The first 3 months is the lecture phase. This is a time of intense teachings, one on one accountability, small groups and learning the outdoor skills. The second phase lasts 2 months and is the outreach phase. For this particular school we are spending one week in the US and then headed to Taiwan for 7 weeks. There we will meet up with a YWAM base there. We will get some time to use the skills we learned to backpack to smaller villages and make God known to the people there. We will find out more details as we get closer.
Please pray for us as we begin this crazy adventure together! Also, that everything would come together somoothly as we head out! We leave June 26! If our story touched you in any way, we would love to have you partner with us in this journey!
Thank you and God Bless!
