“A wheelchair van for Hudson”
Imagine being born with a genetic disorder that has already robbed you of about 75% of yourability to use your muscles.
Imagine having a permanent tracheostomy placed in your throat at the age of 8 months old, just so you can breathe properly.
Imagine being two years old and never to have had the ability to swallow a single mouthful of food.
This is Nemaline rod Myopathy type 3.
This is also my beautiful and loving 2 year old great grandson.
Because of his dedicated therapists, parents and family, Hudson has made remarkable progress. He just got approved for a power wheelchair! This is wonderful news but it poses a big obstacle, as he will not be able to be loaded in the car by hand. Hudson’s doctor and physical therapist appointments involves a minimum 4-5 appointments a week. His parents are in terrible need of a reliable van with a wheelchair lift system. The cost of a reliable used wheelchair van is around $50,000
Today, all of his mobility needs have been met by medical insurance and family resources. Sadly, a wheelchair van does not qualify for medical insurance benefits and the cost is beyond family resources. Make-A-Wish does not participate in the acquisition of wheelchair vans. Grants have been applied for to no avail.
if you have a few dollars to help this beautiful boy continue on his path of progress, please contribute. We all thank you and we will pray for your kindness and generosity will be greatly rewarded. Thank you. Sincerely, Anne Kelhart
This is a device his father built to help allow him to move his legs.
