House Fire

Karen Peña was like a second mother to me growing up in Elgin, Texas. She was one of my mother’s best friends and all my memories that involve her are fun, loving and kind. Today was a sad and tragic day for Karen because she lost all of her possessions in an instant! She was living in her RV, so naturally everything she owns was in this camper. She also lost her husband of 40 plus years to Alzheimer’s a few months ago. He was her whole world! They did everything together, but what they were known best for were singing together professionally. Karen has one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. They are professional musicians; this is still how Karen supports herself. However without a vehicle, clothing, etc. her path toward financial recovery will be astonishingly difficult. Karen is 64, recently widowed, and now without any home because of this fire just before Christmas. Please open your heart to this incredible woman. This woman will always have a special place in my heart, and I wouldn’t create this page if I didn’t think she wasn’t one of the most deserving people I know. God bless this campaign.
