A little over ten years ago, my father was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Only 3% of people with MS have a co-occurance of Epilepsy. My dad is one of those people. If you're not familiar, MS is a degenerative, disabling disease of the central nervous system. Basically, over the years, he's lost the ability to walk, lost much dexterity, suffers from muscle spasms, swelling, extreme stiffness and is in constant pain. Due to lack of income, he gets by with the basics (mostly thanks to the kindness of the VA) but transport is a big issue. His medications also leave him often confused and he sometimes forgets that he can't walk; subsequently resulting in frequent falls and injuries. It would help my family enormously to be able to more easily transport him; from going to the bathroom to trips to the doctor. The chair in the link and video above is perfect for my mother and brother to be able to accomplish every day tasks such as showers, visits to the restroom and to easily get him into their vehicle. His minimal insurance and even the VA have proven to be a very limited resource. I'll keep it short and just say this, my dad has been a real fighter through this. He never complains and certainly doesn't know I'm reaching out for help. I think it would not only boost his morale to know that people are still
behind him, but improve his quality of life as this would allow him to easily go outside and enjoy some fresh air which he hardly gets to do. Thanks for your interest and hopefully your contribution.
