He Found Me at Bojangles - Now Let’s Get Him Home

He wasn’t the cat I was looking for.

Every day, I drove to a Bojangles drive-thru in Charlotte to feed an old community cat. He was shy and slow to trust, but I showed up every day with food, hoping that one day, I might be able to bring him home.

But one afternoon, the old cat didn’t come.

Instead, a young orange tabby I’d never seen before walked right up to me. He was skinny, a little unsure, but gentle. And when I reached out to pet him, he leaned into my hand like he’d been waiting for someone all along.

That’s how I met Mango.

He wasn’t the cat I thought I’d be rescuing — but he became the one I couldn’t leave behind.

A few days later, while he was busy eating, I gently picked him up and placed him into a carrier. He didn’t resist. He didn’t panic. He just looked up at me with calm, trusting eyes, like he knew he was safe now.

Since then, Mango has truly blossomed.

He purrs just from being near you. He reaches out with his paw to say hello. He follows you from room to room, happy just to be close. He’s about a year old, fully vaccinated, neutered, and incredibly affectionate.

Mango is FIV+, but with good care, he can live a long, happy life. His gentle spirit and big heart are what truly define him.

Mango now has a wonderful adopter in Indiana who has opened her heart and home to him.

The only thing standing between Mango and his new life is the cost of getting him there.
