David and Kerry Templin along with their 5 children (ages 16, 14, 13, 12 and 6) are an amazing family. They give back to their community and do anything they can to help their children succeed in life.
In 2007 Kerry was in a vehicle accident that totaled her car and left her disabled. Then in July 2014 David, a 10 1/2 year Navy veteran was diagnosed with stage 3B Colon cancer. In November of that year, he had 2/3 of his colon removed and was in the hospital 3x longer to recover due to serious complications. Soon after the surgery, he started chemotherapy but after only 3 treatments could not continue due to severe adverse reactions. At one point he was placed in isolation because his white blood cell count had bottomed out.
The only income this family has is the small disability check that Kerry gets once a month. It is not enough to pay the rent, electric, and water let alone anything else that the kids may need. David is currently waiting to see if the state of Arkansas deems him disabled enough to receive any disability benefits. He was told today (9/11/15) that it could be another 90 days before he hears anything.
This family is near and dear to my heart! If it weren't for them, the charity that I run The Christian Clothing Exchange would not be running or helping others the way it is today. They have been faithful, consistent volunteers when their health is permitting. The children have been super troopers and helping out where they can.
The major concern is keeping this family together and a roof over their heads. Children don't need these worries and they are the sweetest kids!
