Little League Baseball Team

The Detroit Playmakers is a popular Little League baseball program of Tech Start Detroit, Inc., a 501 (C) (3) non-profit company.  We are a strong winning team that travels to compete in league tournaments throughout the US.  Our program is for children 14 years old and younger.   In the 3 years the club has been running, we have developed a strong community support system for our program and our players. Currently, Cornerstone Schools Grove Campus in Detroit has allowed our teams to utilize their field.  During the fall season, our program provides complimentary baseball skills training at Detroit Edison Public School Academy in Detroit weekly to help elementary and middle school students learn the basic skills of baseball.    We are very proud of our program achievements and the hard work of a lot of people connected with the program has also led to on-field success.  This year our category 12 and under team not only qualified but won 2nd place at the American Amateur Baseball Congress (AABC) Regional Baseball Tournament (July 13th – 15th, 2017) in Rockford, IL.  This has afforded us the opportunity to compete in the AABC World Series in Seattle, WA (July 29th – August 5th, 2017).  This is our second time in 3 years making it to the Regional finals and this is our first time to the World Series.     All too often inner-city youth who are great players don’t make it to the finals due to lack of funding.  We are asking for your financial support to assist in getting us there.  The team expenses for this trip are approximately $25,000.00.  We have received a stipend in the amount of $3,500 from the win in Rockford, in which $1,200.00 of that covers our gate fees for the players and coaches while in Seattle.   The following is the approximate budget to cover expenses for the 18 team members and coaches:   Airline tickets – approximately $10,200, Lodging – (10) Rooms / (6 nights, 5 days) $7,800.00,   Meals - $3,000, Uniforms – $1,500.00 (based on AABC Requirements), Local Transportation Rental – (2) 15 Passenger Vans – price TBD based on availability   Your donation will be tax deductible and greatly appreciated not only by the Detroit Playmakers but the community as a whole. Please let us know if you and/or your company can contribute to our effort to expand the Playmaker Baseball team experience as we participate in the 2017 AABC World Series.    Best Regards,   Stan Allen, Team Manager   Detroit Playmakers 12U & 14U   ...
