WFR Training for Mau and Kanaeli

As you know, we recently climbed Mt. Kiliminjaro and it was awesome!!

As discussed on the trip ... Maulid Mussa Majengo and Kanael Urio were two of the personal porters on our trip. Mau and Kanael have been going to guide school and one of the last steps for them is to complete their Wilderness First Responder Training. I've spoken to both Thomson Safari and the Sentinel Outdoor Institute about us trying to pay for Mau and Kanaeli to take the class.

Thomson Safari works with Sentinel Outdoor Institute to put on this training. Sentinel is unsure if they will be offering a class in November but they know they will be offering the class in April/May of 2024. I tried to set up a fund with Sentinel, but they aren't able to handle donations from multiple people. The cost for the class earlier this year was $740.

So, I've set up this GoFundMe to raise money for Mau and Kanael. I made the target $1500 in case there is an increase in the price. Please contribute and please share with anyone you think might be interested. Thank you to Alison Seville and Jill Schwartz for helping me navigate the process. I will pay Sentinel Outdoor School with the money we raise.

Thanks again for the awesome trip and for wanting to help Mau and Kanaeli. I know this is a lot of money for Tanzanians and think it is neat that we might be able to help them further their careers.
