Hello. My name is Susan and I am starting this fundraiser for the Earhart family. Justin is the victim of an unfortunate accident recently resulting in severe burns to his hands and thigh. After undergoing skin graft surgery this past Thursday, December 1, 2022, he remains hospitalized. It is unknown when Justin will be able to return to work as his job is literally hands-on work. Jessica, his awesome wife, will be with him every step of the way through his long and painful recovery. If you know him, you know he is a hard-working, down-to-earth, funny, generous man who loves his wife and kids unconditionally without question and still has love for his extended family and friends. On Monday November 28th Justin was severely burned when a defective battery exploded in his pocket and caught him on fire. He was admitted to the ICU Burn unit at Grady Memorial Hospital. He is suffering from severe burns to his hands and left thigh. He had surgery on Thursday December 1st. He had a decent amount of tissue removed from his thigh and a skin graft was done as well. His hand could not be grafted due to the area so the surgeon applied a protective layer that will stay on until his hand heals underneath it. Justin has experienced some complications after surgery but is improving everyday. Justin is the sole provider for our family of 4 and has to use his hands for work. His recovery time will be extensive and I will be his care provider until he is healed. This has put our family in a tight bind not only physically but financially. Although not work related, his job has been extremely helpful and caring during this time, but without him working they can only do so much to help until he can return. It hurts our hearts to have to reach out for help, but it is needed and any help is greatly appreciated. The funds will be used to help with medical expenses that insurance won’t cover, our mortgage, vehicle payment, utilities, groceries, gas and Christmas for Bentley and Jasper.
