Friends of Luis Lugo:

To know Luis Lugo was to know love. Real love. For those who were fortunate enough to know him as a childhood friend, the news of his death has us reconnecting and taking inventory in a very different way. That's because there was no one like Luis. He was loved by so many because of his amazing smile, his infectious laugh, his drive to succeed, his courage to get back up each and every time he stumbled, and mostly his overall love for us. He loved deeply and with passion. If there is one thing Luis did without even trying, it was to connect us all.

He would want nothing less than exceptionally good food, great music, and people who sincerely cared for him to show up with love, forgiveness, and understanding in their hearts. That is, after all, who Luis Lugo aspired to be every day.

His struggles were not quiet to us, therefore his successes we celebrated with our hearts full of love and hope. While none of this makes much sense, so we must focus on what good he has brought into our life. To his family we carry some of your sorrow. To his son, Bradley we embrace you as one of our own! Our prayers and thoughts are more powerful as one. Let's not let the grief and sorrow divide. Do what Luis did best, when he was at his best....unite.
