On December 14th we lost everything we had for my family of four in an apartment fire. We lost our beloved dogs a 12 year old border collie named Koda and our 4 year old Pitbull mix Harley. They both were the love of our lives. Our kids were asleep just before 2am I was laying in bed and my fiancé was in the shower. I had started a load of laundry before getting into bed and when I looked over at our attached laundry room it was completely engulfed in flames. I grabbed my 5 month old banged frantically on the bathroom door for Josh and screamed for him to grab our other son and the house was on fire. We ran down stair in our pajamas and my fiancé in a towel and realized the dogs weren’t downstairs which meant they were upstairs under our bed which is in the room attached to the laundry room Josh tried to run upstairs and save the dogs but it was pitch black with smoke and he couldn’t make it. We lost everything for ourselves and our kids from clothes, to beds, to precious keepsakes. We lost the best dogs we could ever ask for. We lost our home. 11 days before Christmas. My family would be incredibly grateful for any help at all to keep our kids warm and safe and help us get on our feet.
