Help Blake Colie Kick Cancer To The Curb

Hi all,

 

As most of you know, Blake Colie is an experienced, in-demand drummer, percussionist, music producer, and music teacher based in Los Angeles whose stage and session work has brought him from national and international tours, to multiple television appearances, and to some of the most legendary studios in the music industry, as well as numerous performance and production credits over the years, be it albums, remixes, music for television, and music for film. Since originally coming out to LA to attend Calarts in 1995 Blake has called LA home ever since and only moved forward to an ever expanding multi-faceted music career.

 

Unfortunately, this past September Blake’s career came to a complete abrupt stop having been first diagnosed with Stage 4 Rectal Cancer. After extensive tests, scans, and diagnosis, it turned out that Blake has a rare form of Stage 4 Melanoma Cancer (Skin Cancer) that has grown internally. Luckily this cancer has been caught on the front side of development but there’s a very long road ahead for Blake for treatment and recovery. Blake’s treatment plan started at the beginning of November with his first round of Immunotherapy. He is now set to move back to North Carolina this coming December to live with his Mom while going through the rest of his treatment process. This process and timeline remain undefined and he needs the help and support within this journey as he cannot perform and must remain unemployed to focus exclusively on healing. This is due mainly to a large 2.5 inch cancerous tumor that is in his colon that causes him daily pain and discomfort that, hopefully within moving gracefully forward in the treatment process, the tumor will shrink and he will avoid any potential surgery.

 

Please consider helping Blake, his mother Jill, and the rest of their family in covering his care, medical costs, treatments, medicine, daily costs of living, food, gas, and all other expenses required in getting him gracefully through the most difficult of times as he “kicks cancer to the curb”. We want him fully recovered and back to great health so he can get back to being the positive, outgoing, groove master that so many know and love him to be.
