My sister and I moved into a new basement flat two months ago on Shirland Road in Maida Vale. We were both so happy and so proud to be able to call this place our new home and was excited to live the next few years of our life in this property.
Yesterday as you may know there were major flooding around London and especially the West area due to heavy torrential rain. Unfortunately, our basement flat has been completely wrecked during the disaster, leaving our home uninhabitable as we have no gas, no electricity and our floorboards have been risen from the ground.
We were both at home whilst the flooding happened unsure of what to do or how to escape situation as our front door had been blocked by the flooding inside and outside of our house. Luckily we were able to escape through Tyra’s bedroom window but was unable to take anything else with us from the property.
The water has damaged all our belongings including clothes, laptops, TVs, watches, furniture and work equipment. We’ve been left with nothing, with no home to go to and have been left temporarily homeless for the time being.
We’re absolutely devastated by what has happened so we’ve created this go fund me to help fund temporary accommodation and rebuild our lives from scratch.
