Our dear friend Kim Waldschmidt’s daughter, Bella, has been diagnosed with Severe Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis.  Bella is an eighth grade student in the middle school and will be having invasive surgery in March.  This surgery involves placing rods in her back to support the spinal column. The surgery will correct many of the problems, but the recovery will be a long journey.  The cost of the surgery, along with additional recovery costs not covered by insurance, will be an enormous burden for Kim and her family.  We hope to support them by taking away some of the financial stress.  

Kim is an amazing first grade teacher at Soda Creek who, without hesitation, has given so much to our community, our students and fellow colleagues.  Kim leads by example and is an excellent moral and ethical model. Kim has spent many hours supporting children, families and educators unconditionally. She works hard to establish positive, nurturing relationships with everyone.

In order to care for Bella, Kim will have to take ample time off from work.  Not only will Kim be out of work, but Bella will be incapacitated at home and unable to attend school for several weeks.

It is now our turn to support her during this time of need.  Please consider making a financial contribution to Kim’s family so they do not have to bear this financial burden alone.
