“We’ve Got Beef” is a short film about two coworkers who embark on an epic road trip quest that will teach them about life, love, and the importance of eating enough protein.
It is not quite a love story, not quite a buddy comedy. It exists in the confusing grey area between rivalry and closeness, childhood and adulthood, and spontaneity and organization. It is a coming-of-age story, but it is one that focuses on how different personalities can complement each other rather than conflict if we all work harder to understand each other.
Our production team is being supplied $250 from our school (Marist University) to help fund this capstone film, but we anticipate needing additional funds to make this project at the level of quality that we want it to be. The breakdown of our budget is as follows:
2 Main Actors - $50 each
2 Side actors - $20 each
Costumes - $150
Props - $150
Craft Services - $250
Location fees - $200
Contingency: - $110
Film festival submissions - $500
Total budget: $1500
Fundraising goal: $1250
Now, we know the way to people's hearts is through their stomachs. So here's some math: a hot dog combo from a rather famous bulk-buy store is $1.50. If about 833 people donated that amount of money to this film instead, we would be able to hit our goal. Truly, no amount is too small, and we really do appreciate the support. If you are interested in funding upcoming student filmmakers, please donate and share this campaign so we can make "We've Got Beef" as juicy and delicious as it deserves to be.
Once again, thank you for your support.
