Battling cancer and learning to live her soul purpose!! Katie’s brave fight.

As many of you know, Katie was diagnosed in September 2015 with stage 4 breast cancer with bone metastasis.  Since that time she has been in the fight of her life completing her 6th round of chemo in January.  Through this journey what is most amazing to me is how positive Katie has been and how she has used this journey for her own personal growth and through it all, despite feeling the affects of the treatment, she has continued to use her experience to inspire others to live a more fulfilled, purposeful and happy life.  Although she was terrified Katie made the choice to focus on love and life instead of fear and death. 

Katie’s positive outlook throughout her fight has no doubt helped in her battle and the response to treatments has been very good.  The chemo successfully killed off the cancer but Katie still has active cancer cells therefore she will need to go every 3 weeks for IV treatments of Herceptin and Perjeta targeting those cancer cells.  This is a treatment that she will need to continue for the rest of her life.   

As you can imagine, Katie’s battle has taken most of her time and energy over the past 6 months and she has missed a lot of work. If you know Katie, you know that she is the kind of person that is quick to reach out and help others, not asking for help herself. I am reaching out to ask that we may join together in helping Katie offset some of her medical bills and other expenses over the past months and months to come.  Any amount, no matter how large or small will go a long way towards helping Katie.
