Help us protect this wetland under threat!

We recently purchased a piece of land, half of which is beautiful declared wetland. But this special ecosystem is under threat if no action is taken—nearly 50 invasive pine trees have taken hold within the wetland itself, slowly killing the native flora.
we are seeing the devastating effects.

Pine trees in wetlands:
• Suck up huge amounts of water, drying out the wetland. Which we are witnessing.
• Their acidic pine needles blanket the ground, preventing any plants from growing underneath.
• They are shading out the native flora, stifling the chance for regeneration.

Already, we are seeing the heartbreaking impacts—many baby and young adult paperbark trees have died and are dying. Worse still, the pine trees are spreading across the road into the adjacent National Park! (We’re in talks with national parks to address this).

We have the PASSION and will dedicate the time to work on this project but we can’t afford the heavy financial burden as well, we need help. We know that if the pines grow larger, removal will become nearly impossible and will overtake the whole area, and goodbye wetland. We hope to preserve the local biodiversity and safeguard its native habitats.

Unfortunately, because the wetland sits on private property, we cannot access public funding. Which is a shame because this isn’t about private land—it’s about protecting the beautiful ecosystem.

With your support, we will:
• Remove the invasive pine trees.
• Restore the wetland ecosystem and its fauna (so many frogs!)
• Protect native paperbarks and plant new life.
• Stop the spread of invasive species into public land.

Your donation will go to expenses DIRECTLY associated with the wetland restoration (arborists, local native plants). We will volunteer our time.
Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a difference.
Thank you!!
