"Be an adult," they said. "Buy a house," they said. Well, I did! I tried! And this morning, Mother Nature decided that my living room CLEARLY needed to be a shallow wading pool. We disagree on the best aesthetic for my home. And after consulting with our insurance, they won't/can't help. This means it's all out of pocket.

Hello! For those who don't know me, my name is Kat! Some of you may know me as DiceGoblinBlackCat. Many of you may know that my husband and I recently moved into our first home together. Unfortunately, I put all of my money into this house because our rent went up 40%, and we couldn't afford that. I already had to remodel the kitchen because of some underlying issues that revealed themselves in the first month we owned the house. It is now month 3, and for several hours today, we had 2 to 3 inches of water in our living room.

I hate asking for help from anyone, but at this point, I am out of funds, and I really would rather not have mold growing in my walls. And even though I just bought most of the furniture in our living room (at thrift shops), I now get to likely replace most of it. So I know times are tough, and it's not a devastating tragedy by comparison, but we could really use some help.
