Westside 5th Grade Adventourist Field Trip

Hello! My name is Mallie Egan. My amazing team of teachers and I teach 5th grade at Westside Atlanta Charter School, a Title 1 school here in Atlanta Public Schools. We are trying to plan an unforgettable field trip experience for our students and need your help!

So many of our 5th graders haven’t fully explored their hometown of Atlanta. Help us make an unbelievable week of field trips a reality for our students! We plan on showing our students how to be tourists in their own city. We plan on touring five different Atlanta staples. We plan on keeping this a surprise for our students until the week of the field trips, so please keep our secret!! After two school years of no field trips and a loss of socialization due to Covid, help us surprise our students with an incredible and jam-packed week of learning about the city that made them who they are! Our students have shown resilience throughout these past two years, and we want to celebrate their strength.

Our fundraising goal is $3,500 to cover pricing for all transportation. We have roughly 40 5th graders we are hoping to take on this week-long field trip extravaganza. We are able to cover a percentage of the price of admissions at our different locations but need your help to get our students there and back safely.
