My name is Lesleigh Murphy. I was born in Denham Springs, La and currently reside with my husband and 3 year son in Houston, Texas. I am the granddaughter to AraJane & Alton Westmoreland whom were victims of the most unimaginable devastating flood that recently hit south Louisiana on August 11th.

As the water began to get higher and higher in their home, they evacuated and moved to dry ground at Hebron Church for 24 hours. After that, the church began to flood and they had to be rescued by aircraft.
Thankfully, they were air lifted by the national guard to higher ground at the Baton Rouge airport and have found temporary shelter.
We thank God for their safety, but as reality sits in, we realize there is little to none to go back home to. Unfortunately, they DID NOT have flood insurance. They lived on a fixed income and simply could not afford it.

Having been married for 55+ years, together they have built a beautiful life together only to have everything they have worked for be taken away from them in the blink of an eye.

So God layed it on my heart to create this page on their behalf.
All of the funds raised will be to rebuild what they lost.

They will need:

Money for temporary housing
Car/transportation
House repairs- Flooring- Clean Up
Mold prevention treatment
Furniture
Appliances
Bedding
Clothing
Food
Etc.

There is a long journey ahead of us, but I know that God will lead the way and this is a start.
